I am thrilled to share the successful outcome of the Blood Donation Awareness Program and Camp that took place on October 22nd, 2024, at NR IAS Academy, Trichy. This event was a joint initiative by the Rotary Club of Tiruchirapalli Phoenix and NR IAS Academy, with the goal of spreading awareness about the importance of blood donation and encouraging young students to participate.
I had the honor of being the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the day, guiding the audience through an informative and engaging program. The event was highlighted by a compelling presentation from Dr. Prabhakaran, our guest speaker from Uyir Thuli Blood Bank and Research Centre, who shed light on the critical role blood donation plays in saving lives.
One of the most rewarding outcomes of the day was the successful Blood Donation Camp that followed the awareness session. For the very first time, over 50 students stepped forward to donate blood, marking a significant achievement for the initiative.
A special thanks to Immediate Past President Rtn. R. Vijayalayan for providing the venue at NR IAS Academy, and to Project Chairman Rtn. Dr. RM Alagappan and Project Coordinator Rtn. Maheswaran for their seamless organization of this event.
